Damien Duran- Artist,Sculptor, Designer
My work usually represents the feelings or mood I am in during the creative process. I have a background in fashion, and I believe in making a collection as cohesive as possible. Each piece of a collection or installation should complement each other, as well as, be impactful on their own. While traveling through Europe I became obsessed with the sculptures all around each city. However, being a modern artist, you can see some of my work is informed by classical Greek and Roman sculptures. I like for the viewer to have an emotional connection with my work. When sculpting I use a range of mediums such as metal, clay, fibers, concrete, and or a mix of the different mediums. My work style is experimental at times. I like using traditional as well as digital techniques for the piece to be realized. I move between the lines of none descriptive and figurative.
Damien currently resides in the Dallas Fort Worth area.
He has a BFA from the University of North Texas.
